Bad weather on Friday forced the postponement of the second day of The Players tournament when South African Christiaan Bezuidenhout and Canadian Adam Svensson lead the classification with a combined eight under par.
The game was suspended at 22:27 Spanish peninsular time and the PGA announced ten minutes later that it would not play again until this Saturday.
Bezuidenhout is -4 after fourteen holes, as is Svenssoneleven later, on a day that opened with the withdrawal of Spain’s Jon Rahm, number one in the world, due to a health problem.
The Spaniard began his tournament with a -1 on Thursday and is defending the first place in the ranking achieved in an extraordinary start to the campaign in which he won the Sentry Tournament of Champions, The American Express and the Genesis Invitational.
The weekend at TPC Sawgrass in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida (USA) will be particularly intensebecause there is still half of the second round to play, in addition to the third and fourth.
Bad weather prevented stars like Scottie Scheffler from finishing their round (he’s -1 today, -5 accumulated) or Collin Morikawa (one over par, -6 cumulative).
