Carlos Alcarazmoved to Greece to play an exhibition, he made sure he didn’t intend to reach the world top-10 at being very young. The 18-year-old from Murcia entered on Monday for the first time in the top tennis group after winning the Barcelona Open Banc Sabadell-Conde de Godó Trophy.
“I didn’t expect to reach this stage at 18 years old. This is the first time I’ve been in the top ten of the rankings and it means a lot,” Murcian said at a press conference.
“For me it’s a dream come true. I’ve been fighting for it since I was a kid and I work hard every day to have the chance to beat the best players in the world and win titles, but I never thought that ‘ d reach this age. ” said Alcaraz.
“I’m playing well, with a lot of confidence for me. I’ll have options to get results at Roland Garros, to be included in the final rounds. I’ve reached the goal of being top-10, I want to continue to grow as a player, continue to win titles and climb the ranks ”, assures the Spanish tennis player.
