Roglic: “In the end my legs were lacking, but I was still the leader”

The leader of Volta Ciclista and Catalunyathe slovenian Primoz Roglic (Jumbo-Visma)admitted that “Remco (Evenepoel) he’s very good and he’s got the legs” on Wednesday after finishing second behind the Belgian on the stage that ended at the ski resort of La Molina.

“It was a tough stage, in the end I didn’t have enough legs, but I was still the leader,” added Roglic after the stage. The Slovenian continues to lead at the same time as evenepoelthanks to the positions achieved in the first three stages of the Volta.

Despite the second place on the stage, Roglic had no problem joking: “Yesterday I said that the last few meters were too short and today they were too long.”

Barring a surprise, the next rivalry between Roglic and Evenepoel will be on Friday at The Port (Tarragona). “I will try to give my best. Let’s see if I finish first, second or tenth”, he limited himself in talking about what could happen.
