This was Badosa’s surreal moment in Miami

Date:

You have to be prepared for all kinds of circumstances to advance in a tournament like the WTA 1000 in Miami. Paula Badosa can prove it, because he not only defeated the German Laura Siegemund on court, 7-6 (2), 4-6 and 6-2, but also had to hold back his own nerves in a rough third set.

At 3-0 Badosa, siegemund seek medical help. It took forever for the physical therapist to show up. The chair umpire continued to work overtime on the walkie talkie because the tennis player had to be treated off the court.

And it took a while because there was no place nearby for the physiotherapist to work on Siegemund’s thigh without hindrance.

About 15 minutes break. I didn’t believe it ladybugwho blows loosely with his racquet, afraid to remain cold, to lose rhythm.

The referee offered to rally someone. And a ball boy volunteered. Not your typical boy, no. A young man with a mustache loads a good load of weights in the gym.

He showed knowledge of tennis, with the ability to at least hit the ball. It was a snap, but the boy snorted with effort.

While Badosa asked the referee what was happening to his rival. He came home, defeated.
