The legendary racetrack in the city of Daytona Beach (northeast Florida), host of the NASCAR Daytona 500 race, will host the Daytona Soccer Fest on July 2 and 3, combining “music shows, professional soccer, camping, soccer ‘freestyle’, fishing tournament, ‘teqball’ (a hybrid between soccer and table tennis) and fireworks, ”the event organization announced on Tuesday.

Centerpiece on Sunday, July 3, is the NWSL tournament match held at 8:00 pm local time between the Orlando Pride team from Florida and Racing Louisville FC from Kentucky.

To this end, a professional soccer field will be built within Daytona International Speedway, something unprecedented in the history of the racetrack, the circuit itself and the production company Torneos, a leading company in the entertainment industry, highlighted in a statement.

The passion for soccer will be included that Sunday with the performance of American rapper Chance the Rapper, and a day before Puerto Rican singer-songwriter, dancer and record producer Rauw Alejandro, winner of the Latin Grammy Award in 2021, and Adassa, known as “the princess of reggaeton”.

“The line-up for the second day of Soccer Fest was impressive and now it’s more than just having the local Orlando Pride team,” said Frank Kelleher, president of the racing circuit.

“At Daytona International Speedway we are known for hosting world-class events and the Daytona Soccer fest fits the bill. It will be a great celebration of the 4th of July weekend,” he added.

Jessica Berman, NWSL commissioner, assured for her part, that they are “excited to celebrate Daytona Soccer Fest and both excited to bring the official NWSL game to Daytona Beach, Florida.”

In addition to the NWSL players meeting, on July 3 the Legends Match will also be played at 3:00 pm local time, where world champions and soccer legends will face each other in this specially created field. which for that weekend, is the highlight of the release.
