New record for Premier League redundancies: the list

The dismissals yesterday Sunday of Brendan Rodgers and Graham Potter, of Leicester City and Chelsea respectively, set a new record for dismissals in the Premier League this season. The number now stands at a whopping 12, surpassing the previous 10 in four separate seasons.

The list of layoffs this season is as follows:

1. Scott Parker (Bournemouth) were dismissed after a debacle against a Liverpool that had thrashed them 9-0

2. Thomas Tuchel (Chelsea) was sacked on September 7, a day after a 1-0 loss to Dinamo Zagreb in the Champions League.

3.Bruno Lage (Wolverhampton) were out of a job on October 2 with the team in 18th place in the table.

4. Steven Gerrard (Aston Villa) was sacked on October 20, shortly after a 3-0 defeat to Fulham.

5. Ralph Hasenhuettl (Southampton) were sacked on November 7 after a run of six defeats in nine games.

6. Frank Lampard (Everton) left Goodison Park on January 23 with the team in the relegation zone.

7. Jesse March (Leeds United). The American lasted a year at Elland Road before being shown the starting gate on February 6.

8. Nathan Jones (Southampton) was sacked on February 12 after a successful three-month tenure after replacing Hasenhuettl.

9.Patrick Scallop (Crystal Palace) lost his job on March 17 after a 12-game winless run in the Premier League.

10. Antonio Conte (Tottenham Hotspur) was sacked on March 26 after his outspoken criticism of the team and the club despite fourth-placed Spurs.

11. Brendan Rodgers (Leicester City) lost his job yesterday, April 2, the day after his team fell into the relegation zone.

12. Graham Potter (Chelsea) ended their brief reign in London with their team relegated to 11th place.
