2-2: Lodeiro gives Seattle hope in the final

Uruguayan Nicolás Lodeiro converted a penalty goal in the 99th minute and was saved on Wednesday for Seattle Sounders of MLS a 2-2 draw with Pumas UNAMin the first leg of the Champions League final Concacaf.

Lodeiro made two good penalties and Argentina’s Juan Ignacio Dinenno scored twice for the Mexicans, who gave up a two -goal lead and now have it all against them in the series.

The game, under heavy rain in the first half, was a battle in the first 25 minutes, both teams had an offensive attitude, but there was little danger when it came to rival areas.

Pumas searched the door of goalkeeper Stefan Frei; in combination, Dinenno entered the area and was caught between Colombian Yeimar Gómez and Ecuadorian Xavier Arreaga, knocking him out to inflict a penalty.

Dinenno missed the shot, but Frei moved earlier and in the replay the Argentine gave the Mexicans the advantage, in the 38th minute. The Sounders drew, putting goalkeeper Alfredo Talavera to the test through a corner kick, but they don’t beat. him.

At the end of the first half, Pumas defender Alan Mozo, one of the team leaders, left due to injury, then Seattle got the equalizer in the boots of Brazilian Joao Paulo Mior, who finished wide.

The second half started in the best way for Pumas, young Jesús Rivas, Mozo’s replacement, passed to Dinenno, who killed Yeimar Gínez’s mark and led it 2-0, at 48.

Sounders advanced lines in search of goals. In the 51st minute, Peruvian Raúl Ruidíaz reached the area with the advantage, however, he ran over Talavera, with timely clearance.

The Americans reduced the well -executed penalty in the 73rd minute by Lodeiro, who in the 99th minute again defeated Talavera to declare the crucial draw.

The second leg of the final will be played next Wednesday 4th in Seattle. The champion will represent Concacaf at the Club World Cup.
