UEFA lowers conditions for South American coaches to train in Europe

Date:

The UEFA and the CONMEBOL They have just signed a cooperation agreement in terms of coaches which is of great importance for European coaches who can go to South America to train and those who come from these countries on the old continent. An agreement signed after consultations with the same Jira Panel of UEFA with its Development and Technical Assistance Committee of UEFA.

An agreement, as we say, based on mutual recognition of the coaches’ qualifications and abilities. Both on the part of UEFAof coaching titles issued in accordance with the Convention of the CONMEBOL for both CONMEBOLof coaching titles issued pursuant to the Coaches Agreement of UEFA.

The great novelty, which represents a new scenario for coaches from both confederations, is that the practical experience as a coach required for each license (Pro License, A License and Goalkeeper A) is reduced from five to three year.

Currently, the operating agreement covers all member federations of UEFA who currently signed the Coaches Agreement of UEFAas well as the four-member federation of CONMEBOL: Argentina, Brazil, Chile and Uruguay.

That means, until now any coach from these countries who wanted to train in Europe had to prove at least five years to do so. From now on you can get this passport by accrediting for three years. And the same is happening with European coaches who decide to cross the pond to train in these four leagues on the South American continent.

Moreover, the current Regulation of the Spanish Football Federation says the following in its Article 175 about degrees obtained outside of Spain. “Coaches who obtained their degree abroad, except for national associations with UEFA Licensing agreements, may act in clubs attached to state level and professional competitions, provided that they holds a title equivalent to the national one and has trained. , as starters, in teams of the highest category of national associations affiliated to FIFA, for at least five seasons.” With this change, this text should change the term of at least five years and it will be three.

In addition, the agreement includes the principles of cooperation and harmonization of many of the standards related to the training and development of coaches: the basic minimum requirements, such as admission criteria, the duration and content standards of all diploma courses delivered within the framework of their respective teaching agreements.
