Austin Sprint Keys

Date:

1. Ducati super engine.

It is true that Pecco Bagnaia shows confidence and composure in his riding, but what allowed him to neutralize Alex Rins this time was his powerful engine.

2. The Rinse/COTA cocktail.

The Circuit of the Americas is the Catalan driver’s talismanic track. Add to this his courage, his experience and the technical work done in his box, and the result is the unexpected podium.

3. Lap 7.

This changed the leader of the race. Rins overtook Espargaró, and in an attempt not to lose his wheel, Aleix braked too hard and lost contact with the Honda. Alex Márquez crash when he was running fifth, trailing Martín.

4. The exit from Viñales.

Terrible start for the Aprilia rider who shattered his expectations of a good result. Eighth on the grid, he went through the first corner 16th. Then, late in the race, he was one of the fastest drivers on the track.

5. Quartararo’s ‘helplessness’.

The French rider crashed in his attempt to counter his bike’s lack of braking performance; and that doesn’t work throughout the race. It gives the feeling that Yamaha is sending its rider to war with a slingshot.
