Former world number 1 and fifteen-time winner of the ‘Majors’ in golf, Tiger Woods, underwent ankle bone fusion surgery, as reported on Wednesday, 10 days after withdrawing from the Masters due to aggravation of his plantar fasciitis injury.
The surgery was performed to treat his post-traumatic arthritis due to a previous fracture of the talus bone, he said on his Twitter account.

x.setAttribute(“charset”, “utf-8”);
$(“.twitter-tweet”).closest( “span” ).append(x);
});
“Tiger is currently recovering and looking forward to the start of his rehabilitation,” the statement added.
Woods, 47, is playing a limited tournament schedule with a reconstructed leg after a car accident in 2021 and withdrew from the year’s first Major after a flare-up of plantar tissue inflammation that made it difficult for him to walk.
The second Major of the year, the PGA Championship, takes place next month in Rochester, New York.
