Carlos Alcaraz19 years old, gave another sample of his naturalness and self-confidence in the press conference after his victory over daniel evans (6-2, 6-2) in the semifinals of Barcelona Open Banc Sabadell-Conde de Godó Trophy. The Murcian reiterated that he is doing well ahead of the final he will play this Sunday (4:00 pm) against Stefanos Tsitsipaswhich he had lost in his previous three matches.
The Greek said a few hours before that he did not enter a track with fear even though he knew that he had a negative balance with his rival. “He wants revenge and that’s good. I also like challenges, I love challenges. He’s one of the best players. I’m also not afraid of the game and tomorrow I will do it”, highlighted Alcaraz, that his tactics against Tsitsipas are very clear.
“Stefanos has one of the best forehands in the world and a great rhythm. His backhand is quite bad, so the tactic is clear: I will try to play against that backhand. He has a better forehand than one backhand and I’m clear about my blows”, added Carlos.

Alcaraz delivered his first international bombshell precisely against Tsitsipas, when he lost in five sets in the 3rd round of US Open 2021, a meeting of which he retains fond memories. “It was a very good match for me, the first top-3 I won, my first match on the Arthur Ashe court, it was a very important moment for my career”, admitted ‘Charly’.
“It was an incredible match, a great battle. I’m a kid without much experience and being able to solve problems after being 6-0 down in the fourth set is something magical for me,” added the Murcian.
Alcaraz was very happy with his performance in the semifinals. “I played very well, with a very good ‘feeling’, hit the ball very well. I had some very good semifinals to gain a lot of confidence for the final”, said Carlos.
