The third day of the Zurich Classic in pairs taking place at TPC Louisiana in New Orleans was a veritable celebration of birdies. With fourball again being played, four pairs were able to deliver a 62-stroke card to show their bid for victory. Three of them occupy the top three positions in the ranking.
Americans Wyndham Clark and Beau Hossler (-26) lead by one shot over Keith Mitchell and Sungjae Im (-25) with 10 birdies on Saturday. Like Europeans Vincent Norman and Matthias Schwab (-24), who also scored double digits under par. Matthew NeSmith and Taylor Woods (-24), along with Nick Hardy and Davis Riley (-23), complete the top 3 of the table.
Xander Schauffele and Patrick Cantlay (-20) proved better when playing as a foursome (63 on Friday) than when playing separately, adding each other’s best results (67 on Thursday and 66 on Saturday).
