Cheste opened the NASCAR Whelen Euro Series season

Ricardo Tormo Circuit celebrates this weekend the first race of the NASCAR Whelen Euro Seriesthe European version of the famous American races, thus kicking off the season consisting of six events in Spain, the United Kingdom, Italy, the Czech Republic, Belgium and Germany.

In total, twenty-nine cars and fifty-five will compete in each of NASCAR’s four races. of the weekend at the controls of participating Ford Mustang, EuroNASCAR FJ, Chevrolet Camaro and Toyota Camry.

The drivers have eighteen different nationalities and some of them already know what it’s like to win at Circuit Ricardo Tormo, like Belgian Anthony Kumpen (Chevrolet). Among the favorites are Italians Gianmarco Ercoli (Chevrolet), Frederic Gabillon (Ford) and Vittorio Ghirelli (Chevrolet), who were among the best overall last year.

In addition to the top category, called EuroNASCAR PRO, there will be two other races in the category, EuroNASCAR 2 and the Club Challenge events.

The entry list also includes the presence of five female pilots and Frenchman Paul Jouffreau in the EuroNASCAR 2 category, carrying the flag of the Valencian Community on his helmet because he lives between Valencia and his hometown of Blaye, near Bordeaux.

The races will be held this Saturday at 2:10 pm and 5:30 pm and on Sunday at 10:45 am and 2:45 pm
