Wyndham Clark leads Wells Fargo

wyndham clark completed the low round of the tournament Saturday, a 63, eight under par, to take a two-shot lead after three rounds of Wells Fargo Championship in Charlotte, North Carolina. Clark, who hasn’t won 133 PGA Tour events since 2019, entered Sunday’s final round at 16-under 197 after his lowest round of the season.

xander schauffele, ranked fifth in the world, shot a 64 at Quail Hollow Club to move into second at 14-under. He is looking for his eighth career PGA Tour win and his first this season. The Australian is tied at 11-under for third place Adam Scott (67 on Saturday) and English Tyrrell Hatton (68).

The Clark’s bogey free round featured eight birdieshalf of them were on the front nine at numbers 2, 6, 7 and 8. He hit the first 17 greens before coming up short on 18. “Xander and I have a great game”, said Clark, whose 28 putts were his lowest Saturday. “For a while I felt like one of us are putting every hole, so it was a fun round. I want to do it again tomorrow, it was so much fun,” added the leader.

schauffele signed seven birdies and two bogeys, as well as an eagle. “If you make good putts, the course is so good that it rewards you,” the American explained after he returned.

defending champion Max Homa he is tied for ninth at eight under par. No player has successfully defended their title in the entire history of the event.
