Date:

The organization of contests Masters 1000 ATP and WTA 1000 of Romesanctioned by the Italian Tennis Federation, resolves the question of who will enter the competition first between the two great protagonists of the draw, Novak Djokovic and Carlos Alcaraz.

The logic can be seen in the order of play this Friday, where he will appear in the Campo Centrale of the Foro Itálico Novak Djokovicreigning champion and current world number one, though it’s a position the Spaniard has held for two weeks just by playing in this competition.

‘Nole’, who did not participate in Madrid, will continue in the draw until the final if he makes it through the rounds as the semifinal will be held in Rome on Friday and another on Saturday.

Alcaraz will act, in its first edition in the Italian capital, on Saturday, against Albert Ramos. He will have less time off if he makes the final, but it also extends the transition from Madrid to the Italian Open a few more hours.

In Friday’s program he appears in the middle Paula Badosain one of the matches of the day against the Tunisian Ounce Jabeur.
