Eduard Romeu: “I am convinced that LaLiga will give the OK next week”

Date:

In a FC Barcelona no general director, the vice president of the economy, Edward Romeouses a great deal of weight in the feasibility plan presented in The league after participating in the first person signing the financing of Espai Barça, the most important project in the history of the club. About that and much more, he expressed his analysis on World of sports in an interview that we will publish in its entirety this Friday in our digital and printed editions.

You are one of those responsible for the feasibility plan presented to LaLiga within the general reduction of costs. How much is left of the 200 million requested by LaLiga?

We are already in significant numbers. It is true that some points are more media than others and in that 200 there is a reduction in expenses but the increase in income should be counted. We are in a very good position and we must continue to do so. We are in high compliance with the goal. It is also true that the sports salary issue has been done by Mateu Alemany and there is still some left.

Are you expecting a response from LaLiga next week?

In the end, it is the validation of the work done from different areas led by the economic area and I am convinced that they will give it the go-ahead. I have no relationship with LaLiga but I don’t know that there is a problem beyond clarifying some concepts.

Do you see a more fun tone from Tebas to Barcelona?

Since Barça is an important club for LaLiga and it, the regulator, there must be an understanding between both parties to reach a reasonable point. Otherwise, it’s negative for everyone. LaLiga will be good for Barça to be in a strong position because there are other leagues that are acting more aggressively. They have other metrics or other concepts are allowed, but they handle more money. And those are audiences and revenue that go elsewhere.

And LaLiga will be good for Messi to return to Barça.

I don’t know but I think a player of Messi’s depth is welcome anywhere, right? So logically, probably, but this is a purely technical area where I do not enter and I do not have any ancestry, beyond the sympathy we have for Leo, the best player in the world.

Within the club’s viability plan, would Messi’s return to his economic potential be good?

We don’t appreciate it. We were just talking about still photos and a few things. I don’t have the players who end their contract for the following season and then it could happen that someone is renewing but not established then people who are not in the club and maybe there is an intention to bring them to the technical part. You have to be very conservative and realistic about what is true.
