The coach of Arsenal, the Spaniard Mikel Artetalamented the defeat suffered at the Emirates Stadium against Brighton (0-3) which kept the ‘gunners’ away from the Premier title, for which they had been bidding all season.
Arsenal is four points behind leader Manchester City, who beat Everton at home (0-3) and also has one less game to play.
“We have to apologize to our people, especially for the bad second half,” he told Arteta after the defeat that left the Premier title so high.
“We must assimilate what happened in the second part, look what happened. Regarding the title, we must continue until mathematically we have no chance. The second position is for sure, that’s true”, indicated the coach of the ‘Gunner’ group.
No justice
Arteta did not want to assess whether Manchester City’s victory over Everton, just before his team hosted Brighton, had influenced the game at the Emirates. “That cannot justify what happened, especially in the second half where we lost concentration and some duels”he insisted.
“Individually we are below our level and I am responsible for what happened because I have to get the best out of every player. I tried to do it in every way but as seen I did not succeed”, assumed Mikel Arteta.
