Australia’s defending champion Minjee Lee overcame an early bogey to shoot a 67 and take a three-shot lead in Saturday’s LPGA tour Cognizant Founders Cup in Clifton, New Jersey.
Lee is at 12 under at 204, three strokes ahead of South Korean and circuit debutant Hae Ran Ryu (70 on Saturday) and Angel Yin (68). Lee also led all 54 holes en route to victory in 2022.
Aditi Ashok (71), Ashleigh Buhai (68) and second-round co-leader Jin Young Ko (72) are four shots back, tied for fourth place. Cheyenne Knight (71) and Grace Kim (68) tied for seventh at 7-under.
Runoff co-leader Sarah Kemp dropped 12 spots to 75 this Saturday.
As for the Spanish women, it was a bad day with 75 shots for Azahara Muñoz and 73 for Luna Sobrón. Both are in the caboose of the classification.
