Alex del Rey of Madrid earned the right to argue with US Open 2023 at Los Angeles Country Club next June in what will be the first Grand Slam of his career.
The 25-year-old golfer qualifies at The European qualifying round played over 36 holes on the Walton Heath course (England) carded two 68 strokes to finish tied for fifth. Seven places were distributed.
Del Rey, with two rounds in which he made nine birdies and one bogey, qualified for the third Grand Slam 2023 along with South African Deon Germyshuys (-10), English David Horsey (-9), South African Wilco Nienaber (-9) , the English Ross Fisher (-9), the French Matthieu Pavon (-8) and the Swede Jens Dantorp (-8).
Now Del Rey and Jon Rahm are the only Spanish golfers with an exemption for the US Open.
