Pole Szymon Marciniak has been appointed by UEFA to take charge of the Champions League final, which will be played by Manchester City and Inter on Saturday June 10 at the Atatürk Olympic Stadium in Istanbul.
Marciniak, 42 years old, refereed his last European match last Wednesday in the second leg of the semifinals between Manchester City and Real Madrid and lived his peak moment in the final of the World Cup in Qatar 2022 Argentina beat France at the Lusail stadium.
He will be assisted by his compatriots Pawel Sokolnicki and Tomasz Listkiewicz, who will have the Romanian Vasile Florin Marinescu as a reserve, while the fourth official will be the Romanian Istvan Kovacs and in VAR the Poles Tomasz Kwiatowski and Bartosz Frankowski and the German that is Marco Fritz.
