Andres Iniesta leave the Vissel Kobe half of the current period of JLeague, as announced by the Japanese club. The former FC Barcelona midfielder, who turned 39 earlier this month, joined Kobe in 2018 after a brilliant career at the Barça club, where he won 30 trophies. He also won the World Cup and back-to-back European Championships with Spain.
“We regret to announce the departure of Andrés Iniesta from our club,” Kobe said in a statement. “Five years since we joined, we express our sincere gratitude to Iniesta, who made an important contribution to Vissel Kobe,” said the statement posted on Twitter.

Iniesta will leave Kobe after their home game against Consadole Sapporo at Noevir Stadium on July 1. The club has a three-point lead after 14 games. He has played 133 games for the Japanese team so far, winning the 2019 Emperor’s Cup and the 2020 Japan Super Cup.
