The Autonomous City of Melilla This is the capital chosen for the argument of Spanish Elite Men’s and Women’s Championship which will be held from June 12 to 18, 2023. The new annual competition for the Autonomies, will have a new scenario for the 2023 edition for arguing the best in each elite category at the national level.
On June 12 the arrival of regional delegations with approximately 150 athletes representing fourteen (14) regions. The next day the competition will start on Javier Imbroda Ortiz Municipal Pavilion with the preliminary rounds to be held in two sessions. On June 15, the quarterfinals will be held, giving places for the semifinals to be played the following day. The finals for men and women will have their appointment on June 17, which will close the competition on the official medal table.
Rachid Bussian, Minister of Infrastructures, Urbanism and Sport of Melilla, confirms: “If there is something missing for a good sports offer for this 2023, it is a Spanish Elite Boxing Championship in our city. Historically, boxing in our land has been a sport with great fans and many practitioners. We are sure that this sporting event will revive the passion for this modality. The recent constitution of the Melilla boxing delegation, which belongs to the national federation, is a milestone for the sport of Melilla. This is the previous step for the definitive planting of a local federation. For this reason, I would like to thank the Royal Spanish Boxing Federation for responding to the interest shown by the Sports area, with its boxing fans, in recent days”.
This tournament, which has a long tradition in our country, had the invaluable support of the Autonomous City of Melilla and Melilla Sport Capital. As well as the official sponsors of RFEbox: LEONE 1947, SHARK Boxing, VisorNets, Aon, Asisa, Iberdrola, Halcón Viajes and Podoactiva, without forgetting the institutions that support us such as the Superior Sports Council (CSD) and COE.
