China is sticking to its strict “zero contagion” strategy, restricting travel, city-wide testing and setting up extensive facilities to try to isolate all infected people. Last year, two meetings in China were also canceled for the same reason.
The news came the same day the Olympic Council of Asia announced that this year’s Asian Games in China had been postponed due to concerns about the spread of the omicron variant of COVID-19 in the country.
