Swedish tennis player mikael ymer was fined €37,370 after being disqualified for smashing his racket against the referee’s chair during a tournament a week before competing at Roland Garros.
An ATP Tour spokesperson said that Ymer lost 9,980 euros and the 20 ranking points he gained by reaching the second round of the ATP in Lyon. Plus a fine of 27,490 euros.
The spokesperson said the ATP Fines Committee will conduct a review of what happened to determine if additional penalties are warranted.
