The minister of Culture and Sports, miquel icetaregretted that Spain missed opportunity to fix the 2030 Winter Olympics -“We had them”, he assured-, and he admitted that what he could not accomplish in the end made him “very angry”.
Iceta put the last point this Friday at 34th Business Meeting in the Pyreneeswhich brought together some 700 entrepreneurs in two days, the largest number to date.
To the audience’s questions, he assured that after talking to the members of International Olympic Committee and representatives of other countries in games in beijing and tokyo he realized that the candidacy of Catalonia and Aragon -finally withdrawn “for reasons I don’t want to go into”, he commented- hopefully a win. “We had it. If we asked for it, we had it,” he said.
“One of the things that made me worse (as Minister of Sport) is that he did not win the Olympic project, especially thinking about the Pyrenees,” he added.
