Davide Frattesi, Sassuolo midfielder, admitted on Tuesday that Italy will have to “suffer” against Spain in this Thursday’s Nations League semifinal in Enschede (Netherlands), but warned that the ‘azzurra’ are “a strong team”.
“Against Spain, we have to be careful, compact and able to recover. We have to suffer, but we are a strong team and we have to show it,” Frattesi declared at a press conference in Coverciano (Florence), where the The Italian team is concentrated.
“We have to be more attentive to their strikers. Spain has always had a good midfield… But ours is a great unit, probably the most complete we have”, commented the Sassuolo player.
Frattesi also wants to appreciate the merit that three Italian teams reach the European finals and the transalpine sub’20 will reach the World Cup final of its category, where it lost on Sunday against Uruguay (1-0).
“We Italians tend to disparage our football, thinking that it is better abroad. But the results speak for themselves and, although the finals are bitter, Italian football is proving to rise, ” Frattesi pondered.
