What happened this Sunday in the first round of the Junior World Championship on the Portuguese track of Estoril was a miracle, with all the letters. Fortunately, it didn’t end in the worst way because destiny didn’t want it. Sam Wilford, a British rider in the Moto2 category, crashed into the wall in a very violent manner with 15 laps to go into a strange action.

The rider lost control of the bike and left the line at the exit of one of the right corners of the Portuguese track. Perhaps he tried to straighten the bike, not giving up despite seeing his attempts futile. Or maybe it got stuck while trying to pull the bike. But the bike went into the wall located to the right of the track and ended up in a very strong impact.
The crash left everyone frozen in force where it reached protections and many feared the worst, but fortunately, or perhaps by a miracle, Wilford he was conscious and suffered only a few fractures, injuries to his tibia and arm.
Another fear on the same weekend
The opening weekend of the Junior World Championship had another horror for everyone, rider Tommaso Marcon, a rider who in recent years has competed in several Moto2 World Championship races with MV Augusta and when 2020 has tried its luck at the Moto E World. Championship The 20-year-old rider touched a rival mid-start, at the straight end, and fell from the bike in the middle of the track, crashing into protections. One of his rivals would have preferred him, but fortunately, he did not. He was taken to the hospital unconscious.
