1. The perfect Assen/Bezzecchi marriage.
On Friday he was spotted driving casually which gave us a glimpse of what happened today. In the morning he took pole position, in the afternoon he won his first ‘easy’ sprint race.
2. Jorge Martín’s poor position on the grid.
While the category is tied, qualifying ninth gives options in the sprint race. Jorge tried everything, he quickly recovered from a bad start, but riding at the back of the group fighting for the podium, the pressure on the front tire increased and his options ran out.
3. Bagnaia competes to defend his leadership.
Last season, Pecco certainly started a recovery at Assen that neutralized the 91-point lead Quartararo had taken from him. He learned from that experience, as the Italian driver was racing in ‘this is how he got there’ mode. It is clear to him that at this stage of increasing the championship is the priority; the time of danger will come.
4. The Binder penalty.
The South African crossed third under the checkered flag, but was relegated to fifth after being penalized 3s for exceeding track limits on the final lap.
5. Assen gave help to Yamaha and Quartararo.
Why here yes and before no is the inevitable question to Fabio. “Because of the layout of the track, and because of the high level of grip of the asphalt in Assen”… I imagine that a bit of a different attitude is also to blame.
