Daniel Hillier, 24 years old, and coming from the Challenger circuit, where he won two tournaments, signed his victory with an impressive finish that saw him make two ‘eagles’ (15, 17) and a ‘birdie’ (16) in the last four holes. Before the New Zealander’s final burst, Wieb had managed an eagle, seven birdies and a triple bogey in the first fifteen holes. In the last three it did not go over par.

They shared fourth place, with 281 hits, the Scots Ewen Ferguson and Calum Hill and English Justin Rose.
