The British Adam Yates, who kept the yellow jersey of the leader of Tour de Franceconsidered the second period “very positive” and said that the cooperation with the leader of his team, the Slovenian Tadej Pogacar, is working well.
“We controlled the race ourselves, we thought it would end in a sprint. Tadej tried to get as many bonuses as possible and I think it was a good day”, said the winner of the first stage.
“We have collaborated well with Tadej at this stage and I think we have three weeks left to continue working together,” said the cyclist, who is considered by his directors as a substitute leader in case the Slovenian does not respond.
Yates noted that one of the team’s tactics is to rake in as many bonuses as possible. “We know we will get the bonus Jaizkibelbecause Tadej is very fast and we will continue to work hard whenever there are opportunities.”
The British considered his transfer to U.A.E and he made sure that everything developed as normally as possible and that this allowed him to give his maximum on the road.
The Briton indicated they are in the Tour bubble and are not following the chaos taking place in France, where tomorrow’s race comes after two and a half days in Basque Country.
