the serbian Novak Djokovicwhich is against Hubert Hurkacz was suspended due to the limit of the game, set at 11:00 pm by the municipal regulations, he wants the organization of Wimbledon to change the starting time of the center court, from 1:30 pm to 12:00 pm
“I agree,” replied the Serbian when asked about the possibility of moving the games forward to avoid the curfew.
“The curfew is something that is more difficult to change and I understand it, because we are in a residential area. I think the games can be advanced to at least 12:00. That would make a difference,” said the Serb .
Djokovic explained that after 8:00 pm the game would “probably” be over and that’s what almost happened against Stan Wawrinka and what happened against Hurkacz.
“I warmed up for both games at 1:00 pm, then you thought, I’m going home, I’m going to stay here… Yesterday I decided to stay. I spent seven hours waiting for my game to start. It’s a lot. You never know what’s going to happen. Now I thought I had an hour and a half left and suddenly they called me because there was a withdrawal. It is tennis and it is its unpredictability. You have to be ready for both scenarios”, commented Novak.
Regarding the game against Hurkacz, Djokovic assured that he does not remember the last time he “had a hard time cutting”, when facing the Polish Hubert Hurkacz.
“He had a great match. I don’t remember the last time it was very difficult for me to subtract. It was very difficult to read,” Djokovic said on court after defeating Hurkacz in four sets, 7-6 (6), 7 – 6 (6), 5-7 and 6-4.
“I didn’t enjoy the game very much, but in the important moments I was lucky to win them. I’ve kept my nerves when it matters”, added ‘Nole’.
The Serbian hasn’t lost on center court in ten years, in the 2013 final against Andy Murray, and has a 32-match winning streak at the tournament.
“I feel a great connection with the track. Every time I go out on the track I feel more confident. I hope it stays for a long time,” he said.
