The French pilot of IndyCar Simon Pagenaud will miss Sunday’s race in Toronto (Canada) for medical reasons and will replaced by Swede Tom Blomqvist, As his team announced on Tuesday, Meyer Shank Racing (MSR).
is second straight race missing Pagenaud, currently 25th in IndyCar, after the freak accident he had in practice at Mid-Ohio on July 1.
MSR pointed out on Twitter that the French driver has been cleared by IndyCar medical authorities to compete this Sunday in Toronto after being tested.

For his part, Pagenaud reported in a statement that he had not been discharged.
“Although I feel good, I’m still recovering. With back-to-back races, there wasn’t enough time for my body to fully recover to compete this weekend,” Pagenaud said.
Palou, clear leader
The IndyCar championship is currently led by Spaniard Alex Palou, from Chip Ganassi Racing (CGR), with 377 points; followed by Scott Dixon, also from CGR, with 267; and Josef Newgarden of Team Penske with 261.
