Getafe reported on Saturday that they have transferred Czech midfielder Jakub Jankto to Cagliari, signing for the Italian club until June 30, 2025 with an option to extend for another season.
“Getafe Club de Fútbol has reached an agreement with Cagliari for the transfer of Jakub Jankto. From the Club we appreciate his commitment and professionalism in the blue shirt, and we wish him luck in the new phase of his sports career”, the club pointed out Madrid in a short note.
Cagliari itself confirmed the arrival of Jakub Jankto, who signed a contract until June 30, 2025 with an extension option in favor of the red and blue club for another season.
Born in 1996, Jankto rose through the youth ranks of Slavia Prague, his hometown team, before joining Italian side Udinese aged just 18. Udinese loaned him to Ascoli the following year and he then returned to the Friuli club, where he played 69 games over two seasons, with 11 goals and 10 assists.
In the summer of 2018, he signed for Sampdoria, where he played 97 games with 9 goals and many assists.
In August 2021, he signed for Getafe, and last season he played in his home country with Sparta Prague (16 games and 1 goal), where he won the title of champion of the Czech Republic.
As an international he has 45 games, 4 goals and 11 assists in the senior team.
