The mayor of Valencia, Maria Jose Catalawas confirmed this Thursday Talks for the new Mestalla have not yet begun and the meetings held by the technicians of the city council in the entity of Valencia are for the activity license of the current stadium.
“LaLiga issued a letter to this town hall in February reminding that the new Sports Law requires an activity license in the soccer fields of the Spanish League. Following that request license technicians contacted Valencia and Levante to advance this activity license”, he explained.
Catalá, who was asked about this issue during the presentation of the solidarity sports event “València against Cancer”, reiterated that “now we are not at that stage. There are negotiations for the license activity of the two fields, Mestalla and the Ciutat de Valencia. It has nothing to do with the new Mestalla, because it is the activity license for the current stadium”.
“This is a new requirement of the new Sports Law and the meetings that took place were with the technicians from the town council of the two clubs for the activity license of the two existing stadiums”, he concluded.
