The Grand Prix Commission agreed to give use of another machine, from the nineteenth raceas long as there are such a number of grand prizes, or more, throughout the season.
Currently, MotoGP regulations allow manufacturers in the category to use a maximum of seven engines during the season. (nine machines for manufacturers with concessions), but this regulation was established when the calendar consisted of less than 20 races and since the 2022 calendar predicted 21 grands prix, it was agreed to allow further use another machine on the condition that, finally,, there are 19 races or more and this machine is only available for the 19th race or later.
The regulations have been updated and now indicate that if there are less than 21 races in the official calendar issued by the FIM before the first race starts, manufacturers will have a maximum allocation of 7 engines (9 for manufacturers with concessions) and if there are 21 or 22 races published in the calendar issued by the FIM before the first race starts, manufacturers will have a maximum allocation of 8 machines (10 for manufacturers with concessions). Use of this eighth (or tenth if it is a manufacturer with concessions) machine will only be allowed from the 19th round.
