Sevilla’s move to Mexican soil this preseason has raised the interest of several clubs in the Liga MX in Jesus Tecatito Corona, a player who suffered a serious injury last season that he wants to forget and currently has no place in José Luis Mendilibar’s starting eleven.
The Rayados de Monterrey, club that this summer made a strong investment in Betic Sergio Canales, has been interested in the great winger with the aim of bringing him back to the country. Tecatito just one year ago, in August 2022, who suffered a serious injury by breaking his fibula and ankle ligaments. In principle, his recovery will take four months after the operation in September, Tata Martino included him in the pre-list for the World Cup, but Sevilla preferred that he recover well and did not leave him in Qatar. But that recovery did not go well and he had to undergo another operation in December, not playing again until the final days of the Liga, scoring in Valladolid on the day of his reappearance.
“Tecatito is one of the names, but there is more,” acknowledged Juan Antonio Noriega, sports president of Rayados, who is pending the operation of one of his attacking players, Berte, who might be out for six months due to a fracture.
Mendilibar left the door open when Tecatito definitely left Mexico in the run-up to the derby between Sevilla and Betis in Guadalajara. There, at the insistence of the local media, he admitted that he was physically below the group. “It doesn’t bother me. The market will move and if you decide to stay or leave, I will help you. He is in the process of returning to being the player signed by Sevilla”, said the Basque.
