Real Madrid regrets the death of Guillermo Timoner

William Timoner, six-time track cycling world champion, passed away this Thursday at the age of 97 in his hometown of Felanitx (Mallorca). Among the many expressions of grief for the death of this legend was that of real Madrid who issued an official statement.

“Real Madrid CF, its President and its Board of Directors deeply regret the death of Guillermo Timoner, a legend of Spanish track cycling and world cycling, and the first Spanish cyclist to be declared world champion,” it began of the statement.the white clubwhich added that “Real Madrid would like to express its condolences and love to his family and all his loved ones”.

“Guillermo Timoner represents one of the great eras of Spanish sport. He was proclaimed six times world champion. He was the Spanish track cycling coach between 1971 and 1978, who participated in the 1972 Munich Olympics,” continued statement from real Madrid which ends by saying “Guillermo Timoner, who passed away at 97 years old, entered the Royal Order of Sports Merit in 2003. Spanish sport and world sport mourn his loss. Rest in peace”.
