The Italian Francesco ‘Pecco’ Bagnaia (Ducati Desmosedici GP23), third on the first day of practice of the MotoGP Austrian Grand Prix, announced that for his “It turned out to be one of the best Fridays of the year.”
“Normally we are not in the top three positions, but in the afternoon we were able to improve the sensations with the bike and in free practice I felt comfortable from the start with the front wheel”, The championship leader remembers the day.
“The pace was quite fast and I managed only one ‘time-attack’ because in the second I had a lot of traffic on the track and it was impossible for me, but overall I was satisfied with how the day progressed”, added by Bagnaia.
The reigning world champion explained that he tested “a new fairing that allowed us to improve when it comes to lifting the front wheel, we’ll see how it goes tomorrow.”
Bagnaia acknowledged that “it will be important to be first in qualifying because although it is easier to overtake on this circuit, we can have problems with front tire pressure”.
