Valencia sleeps leader after defeating Las Palmas

Date:

Valencia seems to have a clear saying at the start of this League: do not suffer for the category as it happened and in what way until almost the end of last year. And LaLiga 23-24 started like a storm: two games, six points.

On Friday, Pepelu’s penalty goal in the 72nd minute sealed Valencia’s celebrated victory over UD Las Palmas, a second straight victory that blew the Mestalla apart as Baraja’s side languished as tournament leaders.

The summer is getting complicated at Che club as important players have left but the reinforcements requested by Baraja have not yet arrived. But the dressing room shows its face at this start.

[+] Watch the match summary:

Valencia started the rivalry like a ‘motorbike’ and first Hugo Duro and then Fran Pérez had the goal in the first breaths. The local pressure was suffering and García Pimienta’s team, which had also seen Sinkgraven injured, suffered greatly to quell the local storm.

Before the break, Valencia managed to advance after a good play by Thierry Correia, but the goalkeeper Valles showed a save trail (41′). Munir replied that there was no luck for the yellows.

In the second half, Che’s dominance continued, but he lacked precision to define. Diego López had the goal for the locals (56′) but in a one-on-one with Valles, the Canarian goalkeeper once again took the lead.

Jonathan Viera signed with some flash for García Pimienta’s box, highlighting a good hand from Mamardashvili in the 61′. Baraja’s team continued to press but ran out of inspiration from the yellow goalkeeper. But, in the end, he won the award for his greatest harassment.

In the 72′, a handball by Javi Muñoz on a jump was punished with a penalty, which was awarded on the order of the VAR. Pepelu, summer signing, changed the maximum penalty to put only 1-0 on the scoreboard.

Valencia continued to press and pointed to their profit, although the visitor Benito put fear in the Mestalla with a chance in 81 ‘but the three points did not fly from Che fiefdom.
