As last year in Utrecht (Netherlands), La Vuelta will start today in Barcelona with a team time trialeven with a significantly shorter route, a scenario that therefore should not be dramatic for any leading rider in terms of time loss compared to his rivals.

If in 2022 the time trial will be 23.3 kilometers, this year it will have only 14.8 kilometerson a route that will show some of the most emblematic, magical places and with the greatest history of the Catalan capital, starting from Somorrostro beach –the race starts on a platform located in the sea, with the first few meters slightly uphill– and the end at the foot of the Venetian towers on Avinguda Maria Cristina next to Plaça Espanya, in a magical atmosphere.
A priori, the powerful Jumbo-Visma team, with Primoz Roglic and Jonas Vingegaard start as favorites. In Utrecht the Dutch squad already achieved victory, ahead of Ineos and Quick Step.
In 2021 and 2020 there was no team time trial at La Vuelta and there was in 2019in Salinas de Torrevieja (Alicante) in the victory of Astana, with the Jumbo team, where Roglic was, finished 18th, giving an idea of exponential growth in the last years of the team.
