Ricciardo was injured after crashing in Friday’s practice for Dutch GP. the new zealand liam lawsonwho replaced Ricciardo since then and made his debut on Sunday in a race of F1will be the Australian’s replacement until the ‘aussie’ is recovered, as confirmed by the AlphaTauri team.
Lawson, 21, finished 13th on the circuit Zandvoortahead of his ally, the Japanese Yuki Tsunodawho finished in 16th place.
“We are delighted that Daniel’s operation went well and that he is now on the road to recovery. We hope to see him back on track very soon, but until he is fully fit we can confirm that Liam , who did a great job in the difficult conditions at Zandvoort, he will continue to drive with Yuki,” AlphaTauri said in a statement.
Ricciardo crashed into the wall at turn 3 on Friday after him Oscar Piastri, a McLaren driver, spun in front of him at Zandvoort. Ricciardo replaced a few weeks ago nyck devries in AlphaTauri and returned to the F1 World Championship in Hungarian Grand Prix last month.
