Alejandro Blanco: “We will have a good Olympic Games in Paris”

He President of the Spanish Olympic Committee, Alejandro Blanco, would like to appreciate the good results obtained by Spanish sport in the various international sports competitions in which Spain was represented this summer.

“Women’s football has achieved extraordinary success. They represent all Spanish football and that medal is theirs. Alejandro Blanco also wants to highlight the successes achieved in athletics, rhythmic gymnastics, canoeing or swimming, among other sports: “In World Athletics Championship We experienced a historic event with two athletes (Alvaro Martin and Maria Perez) who won two golds, in addition to the silver of Mo Katir. Spain was third in the medal table and we took out the top role, an unprecedented achievement. In canoeing, thirteen medals were won, almost all boats qualified Paris 2024. “We will have a good thing Olympic Games in Paris. We have to talk about the good moment that Spanish sport is experiencing, having a brilliant Olympic cycle. That’s what we want to highlight. We have everything to continue to be a benchmark in the world of sport, in the Olympic world”, he added.

And regarding the controversy that has developed in recent weeks, which has removed the great achievements of Spanish sport from the media spotlight, the president of the COE assured that: “We have a sport that we envy and admire. An isolated event cannot take away the fame of our athletes. Let’s applaud what we should applaud, and when something is not in the canons, let’s report it”.
