Arsenal striker Bukayo Saka has been voted England’s Player of the Year for the second year running, the English Football Association (FA) announced today.
Saka, 22, was voted by fans as the most outstanding footballer of the 2022-23 season, ahead of midfielder Jude Bellingham, signed this summer by Real Madrid from Borussia Dortmund, and striker Harry Kane, who in August went from Tottenham to Bayern Munich, finishing in second and third place, respectively.
Saka, who made his England debut in October 2020, he has scored seven goals in 10 games over the past 12 months for England, including three goals at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
The Arsenal forward was selected MVP of the match in the victory over Iran (6-2) in which England debuted in the aforementioned World Cup, as well as in the victories over Ukraine and North Macedonia in the qualifying phase for Euro 2024. in last game, played at Old Trafford, he achieved the first ‘hat trick’ of his career.
