What about Soriano’s renewal at CD Tenerife?

Date:

CD Tenerife suggested “bringing the positions closer” to John Soriano for his contract renewal, and stressed that there is a “willingness” of the goalkeeper to negotiate, as assured by the club’s sports director on Wednesday, Mauro Perez.

With the first transfer window closed for the 2023-2024 season, the island club have proposed ensure the continuity of players who are out of contract in June 2024as is the case of the Sevillian goalkeeper, a starter since he arrived on the island two years ago.

“We are working on it, we have to face these weeks or months with the idea of bringing positions closer. The intention is for Juan Soriano to continue; the child is involved in the projectplaying at a high level, and I understand that there is will on both sides, so we are calm in that sense”, said the leader of Tenerife in a press conference.

The club has already made “some movement” with players it intends to renew –José León, Nacho Martínez and Enric Gallego also entered the final year of the contract-, with those who “will insist and force” to “close a hermetic block”, thereby reinforcing their “sense of belonging” and so that they are “aware that their future and their life is in Tenerife”, added by Mauro Pérez.

The club’s sports director made a positive balance of the summer marketbecause in his opinion they were able to perform “almost all the operations” they wanted.

One of the ones that didn’t work was the arrival of defender Kike Salas (Sevilla)although he believed it served to “discover the potential” of Loïc Williams, central defender incorporated from Atlético Paso (Second Federation)initially for subsidiary Tenerife B (Third), although he usually trains under Asier Garitano with the first team, where he even scored a goal in the preseason.
