0-3: Scotland responds to Spain and extends its plenary session

Date:

Five victories in five games is the baggage of Scotland in the qualifying phase for Euro 2024, reinforced every day, without fail; and that does not give in to the fragile Cyprus to extend his whole and his dominance in Group A, ahead of Spain, Norway and Georgia.

This is the response of the group of Steve Clarke with the huge victory of the Spanish team in Georgia in the previous rivalry of the day. The Scottish victory at Larnaca. But it is credible, with the line Clarke’s troops have shown since the tournament began.

Full of Premier footballers, the Scottish team enjoyed the inspiration of its leader, the Manchester United midfielder Scott McTominay and the leadership of the Liverpool winger Andy Robertson which appeared to all intents and purposes.

The leader of Group A did not give rest, because after a quarter of an hour he already had a game more than the track against an opponent who counted their games by defeat. Cyprus lost again to Scotland, which they fell to on the first day of the qualifying phase before losing their matches against Georgia and Norway. Visited on Tuesday pomegranate to face Spain.

The Scottish team were comfortable and opened the scoring after seven minutes. A cross into the area from the left by Andy Robertson headed first John McGinn who sent the ball to the far post where it was McTominay also with a header, beating Joel Mall.

After eight came the second. A lateral foul committed by Robertson was reached Jack Hendry which bypassed the local defenders. The ball landed in the six yard box. Ryan Porteus got his toe in and brought it to the net again.

The superiority is obvious, especially in the aerial game. Scotland have found a root in a specialty that they dominate and that is part of their style of play. He scored the third, he declared, at half time. It is signed by John McGinn. The Aston Villa player, up front, fired a low shot that surprised Mall after receiving a pass from the right from McTominay.

Only the lack of success prevented a higher score. Robertson is a permanent threat to the Cyprus team. The winger reached his goal without problem and centered with precision but no Callum McGregor neither Lyndon Dykeswho replaced Che Adams in the second half, arrived in time to finish.

He was close to finishing fourth in the final stretch. Fourteen minutes before the close, in a distant shot of Scott McTominay that hit the right post.
