Although he Al-Ittihad failed at the last minute to sign the Mohamed Salah in the recent summer window, in revolutionary Pro League Soccer Saudi Arabia are making sure they keep their hopes intact of including the Egyptian striker from Liverpool in the January market. The offer of 150 million pounds for the footballer was not enough.
Saudi Pro League football director Michael Emenalo indicated that efforts will be renewed next time. “Salah is one of the best players on the planet. I’ve said before, privately and publicly, that we welcome anyone who wants to come to the SPL and that includes Salah,” he told Sky Sports. “And we will do things in a very professional and respectful manner,” he added.
“If the signing didn’t happen, it’s not because we don’t want the player anymore or because we have a problem with Liverpool. It’s because some things that should have lined up didn’t. Nobody was upset, we’re moving forward, but we’re not closing doors. If there’s an “opportunity to do things and do them well and that brings Mo Salah to the SPL, we’ll be delighted.”
