Joan Mir (Honda RC 213 V), fifth in the MotoGP Indian Grand Prix, noted with pleasure “This is a weekend where we have to put the icing on the cake with good career results and, in fact, I have saved the furniture“.
“I think we have not realized our true potential in the race because the first part I managed to control the tire issue and from lap ten I started to have a lot of vibration in the back of the bike, it was from the tire and that’s when I got scared, because I thought. the race was never finished,” Mir recalled.
“I started to slow down a bit to be able to finish the race and bring the bike to the boxand in the second part I wasn’t able to push as hard as I wanted but when I got behind Fabio I was going pretty well, pretty comfortable, but I had a problem with the rear tire and we have to understand why, because it’s strange” commented Joan Mir.
“Good weekend, good feeling, fifth, but I left there everything I could and morebecause this is the best result of the year, but more than the result, the weekend,” insisted Mir.
“I don’t have a motorcycle to winbut I have a motorcycle to be close to Fabio and to compete for the podium at the end of the race, but I lost two or three seconds at the end because of the tire, I think it’s a bunch of things,” continued Mir.
“The team is starting to understand my virtues as a driver, that they have to exploit, like everyone else, how they understand Marc so well, and when it doesn’t work, ‘it’ disappears. When I don’t go, they don’t know why either, but they understand me better and I kind of understand this very critical motorcycle… That’s all, everyone came together,” he said.
“I still need to catch up a bit and we have been able to have a good weekend, but I don’t want to give it too much thought, the only thing I want is that in Japan we can start from here since this race has helped me in terms of confidence. , and hopefully it will also help me and It will help the team to accelerate our momentum and if you give me even a little help, from the end I will be back fighting for a podium,” insisted Joan Mir.
