McIlroy was upset with the way Joe LaCava celebrated Cantlay’s birdie putt and the match ended on the course. Cantlay and Wyndham Clark they beat McIlroy and the Englishman by one Matt Fitzpatrick.
LaCava stood close to McIlroy, waving his hat in the air, as the Northern Irishman tried to line up his own putt.
Europe win USA by 10.5 to 5.5 in the absence of 12 individual matches this Sunday. Four more points would be enough for the Europeans to once again conquer the Ryder Cup.
