Jon Rahm, head of Europe
Europe regained the Ryder Cup title yesterday with a stellar Jon Rahm, winning two matches and drawing two others, including against Scottie Scheffler, the best player in the world, and with blows that amazed all over the planet. Europe’s success in a Ryder that has all the ingredients is and because of the confirmation that this is a historic competition restores the media focus it deserves and its participants take themselves more seriously. The tens of thousands of spectators who attended the Marco Simone in Rome were able to enjoy several days of quality golf. Celebrations, tears, controversy and anger from some of its participants to show that the prestige that winning the trophy gives you is worth sweating blood to achieve. Special mention deserves the Spanish golfer Jon Rahm, who in his third participation in the historic struggle between Europeans and North Americans, won his second Ryder, participating in the victory of those from the old continent with three points. The one from Barrika starred in some legendary shots, like the one that almost made a hole in one or the one that helped him tie against Scheffler. Congratulations to the champions and the organization for an exemplary tournament

Pau Garcia, three-time champion
Pau García won his third consecutive world title at the World Skating Championships held in Ibagué, Colombia. With this remarkable feat, the Spanish skater consolidated himself as one of the most outstanding in the history of this sport, achieving a feat reserved for a select few. In the women’s category, Carla Escrich reached an unprecedented milestone in her career by taking the world runner-up medal, just 0.32 points away from the gold medal. Congratulations to both of you

Surrealism in athletics
This week we experienced two unique moments in athletics. First to Kenyan Robert Kimutai Ngeno, who was attacked by a dog that broke his rhythm and relegated him to third place when he was first. On the other hand, Agnes Ngetich was left without the two world records she registered in the 10 km as she ran 25 meters longer than the set.

Nacho and the pressure of the referee
Real Madrid were the stars this week for two regrettable actions. First, Nacho’s with the worst entrance I’ve seen in years. What would have happened if it had been done to Vinicius or Bellingham? And then with the MadridTV videos and the pressure on the referees, complaining about a refereeing against Atlético that was perfect

Bad for Sevilla and Aguirre
Sevilla acted disproportionately and sentenced Barça before any court could. The Andalusians’ sit-in was inappropriate and out of place. And then there is Judge Javier Aguirre, who instead of pointing to crimes based on evidence, first points to crime and then looks for evidence. How can Negreira become a public official?
