Brazilian Justice released Neymar, forward of Saudi Al-Hilal, from paying a series of fines imposed on him for building an artificial lake at a beach house he had on the coast of Rio de Janeiro.
The decision is made by Judge Richard Robert Fairclough, of the Single District Court of Mangaratiba and that, after the player’s appeal, granted him a precautionary measure that suspended the penalties, which he described as disproportionate, according to the decision, to which the EFE this Thursday.
The fines for the former Barcelona and PSG player totaled 16 million reais (3.1 million dollars/3 million euros) and were imposed in July for the artificial lake he built in the large gardens of his residence located in the municipality of Mangaratiba , in one of the luxury condominiums under construction at that resort on the coast of Rio.
According to the environmental authorities, the works showed a series of irregularities, including the diversion of some streams, the collection of water from a river without permission, the prohibited excavations, an irregular movement of rocks and soil and the use of sand from the beach near the house.
The judge asks for the suspension of the first sentence
For the judge, the authorities’ decisions were “abusive” and disproportionate and, therefore, he ordered their suspension for a maximum period of 72 hours, under penalty of a financial fine of 10,000 reais per day (1,941 dollars or 1,851 euros). the Mayor of Mangaratiba.
